Knowledge Base Formatting

I am finding that URL and PDF knowledge bases that don't include obvious sort of "this is the question and this is the answer" sort of formatting that the LLM has a hard time finding an answer (it doesn't infer things well). Could this be because I didn't tell the bot what it is receiving clearly enough? Or is this normal, and I should just feed it more specific knowledge bases? Any thoughts on this would help 🙂
I should also specify that the issues are arising with custom company websites and pdfs, not with big wikipedia type sites
