I'm not exactly sure of the issue, but it could be due to the way they feed knowledge base information to the model, or the prompts/system messages they're using for the API calls to openAI. I do know that if you cram too much information into a prompt, the model's output quality will tend to decrease. So it might have something to do with the presence of the knowledge base info and how its being fed to the model.
