I did not like the community plan update

I did not like the community plan update. When Botpress is charging extra for extra seats, why are you forcing the role of that seat? Rather I could keep adding new workspace and not pay. But when I am paying you are forcing things on me, not good! Every time there is an update, Why some decisions are against businesses. You should be encouraging businesses to grow and not force things on them. Otherwise, let us know it is only for the enthusiast, and businesses can look elsewhere. As a contributing member of this community help my voice reach the right folks at Botpress.

hey there - thanks for sharing! it's fairly standard across SaaS products to provide role-based access control to larger teams and enterprises using the service, as those are typically the ones who get the most value out of it
to be clear - you can still add extra members, they'll all just have the administrator role, so you're not losing out on functionalities there
l
Thanks, Robert for your note. But you need to understand, not everybody starts enterprise and if I am adding extra members they all need not be administrators. You are taking away the basics of every SaaS model. No SaaS model will have the same rights for every user. I understand RBAC, but this is a basic I will have no control if someone wants to play malicious and delete some bots as they have administrator rights
You are let me run the risk of loosing my business even before I give you more
b
the tradeoff you get with Botpress is that, as you've noted here, you get access to unlimited workspaces, so you can separate out users and bots that way. an alternative would be to downgrade the default role of added users, so they're managers or viewers but not admins, but I don't think that's a suitable solution
l
Yeah, but do understand, I am not here for a tradeoff, it was not there before. I am here to grow my business I am using Botpress services and paying for it as well. I surely aim to go enterprise one day. But like i said, I want to ensure basic protection at the price I am paying for. Yes, I could have more workspace, if my ultimate motive was a free ride, we would not be having this conversation Lastly, there is no option to downgrade. I want all whom I am adding to be developers
b
I meant downgrade from our perspective - so by default they're devs, not admins
l
All, I would say it is not a good move, you technically are saying either be free or be enterprise. It is the least I could have expected from Botpress, you are here to allow people to build bots. But you are making it difficult to use your product We have already reached the state where we were planning to upgrade, but I am worried if the company keeps changing policies, what could change in the future, which brings us worry about our dependency on Botpress I hope it is only us and your other customers do not feel the same
I do no see that option
