Probably easy answer, but i wanna make sure. I dont want it to end the session, as this is only supposed to be done by the ending of a flow.

Time out does end the session. You can also test it, by setting the time out as low as possible, embed it some where. Wait for the timeout and then 1 more minute, then type something to it, and it should start from the beginning.
