How can I capture the first message sent by the user in a variable? @crooked-van-25152
b
Add the "wait for user input" card and save it as a variable
@bland-arm-65097
f
Or you could use a raw input card if you want to ask them a question first
r
Both are great suggestions 🙂
c
I second!
Thanks @brainy-summer-1041 & @fresh-fireman-491 !

Thank you guys for responses but I still didn't figure it out . What I am trying to do is connect this very first message directly to an execute code node linked to stack ai where he can answer. If I send another hey this time it'll work.

Could you share the workflow?

In the knowledge agent settings, turn on the “answer on start node”
b
It is turned on

If you want to capture the very first question as well, you can’t do it in the emulator. It always needs a message to actually start
You should add a trigger
And put the raw input card
But it will only work once published on your website, triggers don’t work in the emulator
b
Okay
Thank you

Publish
Then go to chat from the dashboard
Should work in there
